Terms of Sale
The European Skeptics Congress 2026 is organised by North West Skeptical Events Ltd (“NWSE”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07302150), and The Merseyside Skeptics Society (“MSS”, company number 07352726), on behalf of the European Council of Skeptical Organisations (“ECSO”, together with NWSE and MSS, the “Organisers”).
Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing a ticket. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not purchase a ticket.
Payments
Payments must be in pounds sterling. Once we have received details of your paid booking, we will send you an email confirmation. The Organisers not accept responsibility for the non-arrival of information.
Minors
Attendees younger than 18 years (“Minors”) at the time of the event must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Minors must present themselves at the registration desk with their accompanying responsible adult to be allowed to collect their attendee pack.
Any infringements by the Minors will be attributed to their accompanying adult. In the unlikely event of the accompanying adult being ejected from the event, the minor will also be required to leave.
The event may feature adult themes and language. Accompanying adults are expected to use their own judgement to determine if the content is suitable for their Minor and remove them from the auditorium if they feel the content is unsuitable.
Attendees younger than 13 years of age are not permitted at the event.
The welfare of any Minor remains the responsibilty of their accompanying adult at all times.
Changes To Bookings
All cancellations must be made in writing to help@escliverpool.org.
Cancellations made before 26th July 2026 will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made between 26th July and before 25th September 2026 will receive a 50% refund.
If you are unable to attend, but have previously bought a ticket, you are free to transfer that ticket to someone else. The Organisers accept no liability in private transactions of this kind.
Should you transfer your ticket you must contact us to advise us of this change in order that we may adjust the attendee name badge details. Please also advise the buyer that their ticket is subject to the same terms and conditions as the original sale, and that this forms part of your contract of sale to them.
Transfers that do not conform to this process will not be accepted and entry may be refused.
Although ticket sales between attendees are entirely private transactions, attendance is still governed by our general terms and conditions.
The organisers regret that no cancellations or transfers will be accepted from 25th September 2026 onwards, and therefore no refunds are payable from this date.
Event Cancellation
Where circumstances force cancellation of the conference in its entirety, the Organisers will make every effort to refund as much of the conference fee to each paying attendee as possible, having regard for any irrecoverable costs of production for which the Organisers remain liable. The Organisers are not liable for any consequential loss suffered by the attendee.
Event Programme
Whilst the programme is correct at the time of publication, the Organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme, location and/or speakers without prior notice. Such alterations may occasionally be necessary due to circumstances beyond our control.
Liability
In any dispute the liability of the Organisers is limited to the price of your ticket.
Speakers
Views expressed by speakers are their own. The Organisers disclaim any liability for advice given, or views expressed, by any speaker at the event or in any documentation provided to attendees.
Filming + Photography
For promotional purposes, there may be a professional photographer and video production taking place during the event.
Attendees are not permitted to make commercial use of any video or audio made during the event.
Accommodation + Food
Overnight accommodation and refreshments are not included in the registration fee. If overnight accomodation is required, you must make your own arrangements.
Attendee Conduct
Attendees agree to be bound by the Code of Conduct, as published on this website. Attendees recognise that failure to comply with the code could result in admission to this and future events being recinded or refused.
Data Protection + Privacy
This privacy policy applies to any information acquired by and/or provided to the Organisers including but not limited to: information provided through use of the website; information provided during the course of orders, transactions and bookings; information provided through enquiries or by the completion of any request and or invitation for information. The Organisers may gather information about you when you use our website.
The Organisers recognises that your privacy is important to you. The information you submit in relation to the event will be kept confidential and secure conference will be kept confidential and secure once received.
By registering for this conference and disclosing personal information to the Organisers you consent to the collection, storage and processing of information in the manner described in this policy.
The Organisers will only disclose this information in the following circumstances:
- where your consent has been obtained;
- where there is a legal obligation;
- where there is a public duty;
- in connection with the assignment or transfer of all or any of its rights and obligations to any of its group companies or to any other third party; or
- where such disclosure is necessary for the administration of the event.
Any personally identifying information we gather during the ticket buying process will be held for a maximum of three years, before being permanently deleted. You can request a copy of the information we hold on you by applying in writing to help@escliverpool.org. You may also request any information held on you be deleted by writing to the same address.
