Transmissible Illness Safety at ESC Liverpool

With the event just days away, we wanted to let you know what precautions we are taking to help reduce the risk of spreading colds, flu, and other transmissible illness at the event.
Masks - while face masks are not mandatory, some attendees may feel more comfortable wearing masks at various points throughout the event. Please be courteous and considerate to other attendees who are choosing to wear masks.
Testing - if you have access to a rapid test for a relevant illness (such as Covid or flu), we encourage you to take one in the days before you travel to the event. We won't be checking anyone's test results, but as a science and skepticism conference, we're sure none of our attendees want to be the one who brings an illness into the venue. If you do test positive for something contagious, please get in touch as soon as you can, and we will try to be as helpful as possible.
General good practice - if you're feeling unwell in the run-up to the event, please consider whether travelling is a good idea, and take basic hygiene steps like washing your hands regularly and covering coughs and sneezes.
Together, we can help make the 21st European Skeptics Congress event as safe as possible for everyone attending.
